Lady Gaga Announces New Album Title Via Twitter
An app that brings a new Twitter experience
This past week, Slices for Twitter (free) was launched on Google Play and the iTunes App Store. From the same developers who brought you TweetCaster, Slices for Twitter offers a whole new experience in organizing your Twitter feeds, helping you find feeds and offering more control over what you want to do with your feeds. Check out the following videos and decide whether you want to give it a try. Well, I did and I really like the interface. Although it's still a bit sluggish, give it a few upgrades and I think it may be one of your essential Twitter apps.

63% of Retweets Are of Male Users
There may be more women on Twitter, but its male users that are dominating in retweets.
Swedish-based Crossing Boarders has developed a tool called Twee-Q — or “Twitter Equality Quotient” — that reveals how many men and women are retweeted by each individual Twitter user. According to the collected results so far, men are significantly leading the retweet race.
Of the more than 11,000 tests conducted via the tool, men make up 63% of all retweets compared to only 37% of women.
Even President Obama’s account — which is run by his campaign team — retweets men (79%) more than women (21%). Rapper Snoop Dogg also favors male retweets (84%).
However, both Lady Gaga and Ellen DeGeneres are equal retweet opportunists, retweeting men and women the same amount.
“We want to change the world by showing how each of us rank women and men when contributing to a conversation,” Twee-Q said on via a translation on its site. “Only when we see how we act, who we choose to listen to and acknowledge, can we take the first steps toward a truly equal society.”
To see if you retweet men or women more, type your Twitter handle into Twee-Q here.

Thousands of Twitter passwords exposed
It's unclear who's responsible for posting passwords for Twitter accounts to a public Web site. The exact number of accounts is also unclear, as Twitter says many are duplicates and many had already been suspended.
"It's worth noting that, so far, we've discovered that the list of alleged accounts and passwords found on Pastebin consists of more than 20,000 duplicates, many spam accounts that have already been suspended, and many log-in credentials that do not appear to be linked (that is, the password and username are not actually associated with each other)," he said.Weeks disputed that estimate, noting that many of the passwords and accounts seemed like duplicates.

It also came packed with features like auto-shortened URLs, Tweets appearing in real-time, and multi-account support.Today, we’re releasing the first major update to Twitter for Mac. Some of the highlights:
- See multiple timelines at once. You can open more than one Twitter for Mac window at any time, giving you a chance to view your home timeline, @mentions, lists, multiple accounts, and more – all at once. Just go to the Window menu and then scroll down to “Open in New Window”.
- Take actions more quickly and easily. We made design changes that make the app easier to use and look even cleaner.
- We added a bar along the top that lets you easily click back to previous pages.
- There is now a separate “New Tweet” button in the bottom left corner of the app.
- We improved the design of Direct Messages, making it easier to view a conversation.
